INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE
Deeply rooted in natural ecosystem design and science, permaculture is a world-wide, positive-solutions approach to sustainably providing for our needs while respecting and regenerating our natural environment. By patterning our use and management of natural resources from "source to sink" in the way of natural ecosystems, we can more effectively design our human systems in ways that provide for our needs now and far into the future. In this full-day workshop intensive, we will explore the ethics of "Earth-care, People-care and Fair share", as well as how applying permaculture principles can provide functional frameworks and guidelines for working with, not against, nature, giving us the tools we need to establish true urban abundance and resiliency. We'll learn how to observe and emulate nature's patterns and systems in our designs and growing systems, nurture and support diversity and create empowered community.
